Miyawaki Forest Plumley Village Worcester, MA
We are proud to support two of Worcester’s first Miyawaki forests:
📍 Plumley Village Apartments within a residential community
📍 McGrath Parking Lot near the Worcester Public Library
These forests are already beginning to:
cool surrounding pavement and reduce heat
absorb stormwater that would otherwise flood streets
create habitat for birds and pollinators
bring daily access to green space in dense areas
These projects are built in partnership with BSC, Bio4Climate, and the City of Worcester Department of Sustainability and Resilience, with ongoing stewardship supported by volunteers, local students, and community members.
People are not just visiting these spaces. They are helping care for them, learning how forests establish, and becoming part of the process.
Interested in Bringing This to Your Community?
If you are part of a municipality, organization, or community group looking to implement ecological stewardship, rain gardens, pollinator habitat, or urban forest systems, we would welcome the conversation.
